Until August 31, you can see this
and 14 other masterpieces in the courtyard of the Conservatory
at the New York Botanical Gardens. They are on loan from the Museum
of Modern Art, whose main space is currently closed for major renovations.
Perhaps calling this series "Public Art" is misleading;
basically we mean "modern" art (not traditional statues)
which is placed outdoors where the public can see it, even if only
temporarily, like these sculptures, and not always in a "public"
space -- i.e., it costs money to get into the Conservatory, just
like it does to get into MoMA. Hmmm... "Outdoor Art" might
work better...
